Being a part of the ROTC program is a foundation I will need while in school. Personally, I have had a personal goal of wanting to be of something bigger than myself. I think joining ROTC is just what I needed to do to achieve that goal. This will push me as well my education further into my passion and will take me on a path to success.
I have always been a hands-on learner; it is the way I best process information. What I have learned inside and outside, of a student teacher setting in is that, yes, it is good to know how to do things by yourself, but there will always be people there to help along the way. I say this to point out how much of a Family ROTC is and they will always be there, without question.
My mother instilled in me a trait of curiosity and courage. I am always open to try new things and when she suggested ROTC, I was open to the idea that I would be able to help the country which I live. I was not used to being in charge but these past four years at high school I have grown in a leadership sense. I have worked at a Physical fitness camp for youth, as well as volunteering after working at a camp for under privileged children in the community. I volunteered, at my middle school on my free time, and I was team captain for the throwing division of my track team.
I have always seen persistence as a main trait in the journey to success, I want to go on to pursue a masters after serving. I would like to thank everyone who gave me this opportunity, and who pushed me towards my best self.
